Function of flame retardants

The demands placed on modern flame retardants have changed considerably over the past years. In addition to effectiveness in the case of fire, environmental considerations also play a role in all phases of the product life cycle - from production, processing, application and recycling, which increasingly plays an important role.

Flame retardants are an important part of fire protection as they not only reduce the risk of a fire starting, but also the risk of the fire spreading.

This function increases escape time and this protects humans, property and the environment.
