The various flame retardant systems

Flame retardants are, chemically speaking, a group of very diverse substances with only one effect in common - they reduce the flammability of materials.

The flame retardants are grouped according to the chemical elements that provide their effectiveness:
Bromine, chlorine, phosphorous, aluminium, magnesium and nitrogen are the most important elements.
